Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent Zn in a plated layer from being eluted into a chromate treating liquid by a method wherein a steel plate is subjected to moltem zinc plating in a plating bath containing Al, Pb and Zn in a specific ratio and, thereafter, subjected to chromate treatment. CONSTITUTION:In a plaing bath containing 0.3% or less Al and 0.05-0.14% Pb and substantially comprising the remainder Zn, a steel plate is subjected to molten zinc plating. Subsequently, chromate treatment is carried out. As described above, because a Pb amount in the plating bath is made proper, a phenomenon such that Zn in a plating layer is eluted into the chromate treating liquid can be simply controlled at a low cost and the deterioration of the chromate treatig liquid can be prevented.
