Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate the formation of flame at the time of ignition by a method wherein the heights of small holes at the lowermost line in the combustion zone of an inner flame tube and that of an outer flame tube are made in stages in a combustor in which there are concentrically provided the inner flame tube, the outer flame tube and an outer casing with a heat resisting, heat permeating material provided over its outer circumference.

CONSTITUTION: The inner flame tube 4 and the outer flame tube 7 respectively having a large number of small holes thereon are provided on a burner 1 with a plurality of spouting ports 3 to spout the gas uniformly. In the inner and outer flame tubes, their upper parts serve as the combustion zone A and their lower parts as a premixing zone B. As for the large number of small holes, the small holes at the lowermost line in the combustion zone A are located at the positions indicated by the numerals 5 and 8 and those at the uppermost line in the premixing zone B by the numerals 6 and 9 respectively of the inner and outer flame tubes. That is, about the small holes 5 and 8 at the lowermost line in the combustion zone A of both flame tubes 4 and 7, the small holes 5 located higher than the small holes 8. The combustor comprises by providing the heat resisting heat permeating body 11 such as heat resisting glass or the like on the outer casing 10 concentric to the outside of both inner and outer flame tubes 4 and 7 having such configuration as mentioned above.
