Abstract

PURPOSE: To achieve uniform heating and stable combustion in a combustor comprising an inner and an outer flame barrels and an outermost heat-insulating barrel, by specifying barrel, by specifying the vertical pitch and the circumferential pitch of premixing-air ports formed in both of the inner and outer flame barrels at their lower parts.

CONSTITUTION: In a combustor, in which an inner flame barrel 21 and an outer flame barrel 22 formed respectively with combusting-air ports 35, 37 at their upper parts and premixing-air ports 36, 38 at their lower parts, a barrel 25 made of heat- resisting glass and a heat-insulating barrel 27 disposed on the outside of the outer flame barrel 22 are arranged concentrically with each other, the premixing-air ports 36, 38 respectively of the inner and outer flame barrels 21, 22 are arranged alternately to each other in a vertical direction. In more detail, the vertical pitch of both of the ports 36, 38 is selected to be greater than 8mm, the circumferential pitch 4mm, and the diameter of the ports smaller than 1.2mm. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to prevent extignuishing or sticking of flame to the ports 36, 38 even if the apparatus is subjected to the influence of wind or change of gas consumption rate, so that stabilization of combustion can be achieved.
