Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a combustor comprising an inner and an outer flame barrels and an outermost heat-insulating barrel, which is capable of igniting even a heavy gas such as LPG with ease, by forming ignition ports having a particular diameter at the lower part of the outer flame barrel.

CONSTITUTION: In a combustor, in which an inner flame barrel 21 and an outer flame barrel 22 formed respectively with combusting-air ports 41', 41 at their upper parts and premixing-air ports 34', 34 at their lower parts, a barrel 25 made of heat- resisting glass and a heat-insulating barel 28 disposed on the outside of the outer flame barrel 22 are arranged concentrically with each other, two of the premixing- air ports 34 formed in the outer flame barrel 22 at its lower part are formed into ignition ports 35 having a diameter of 2.0W3.0mmϕ. Further, a pilot burner 36 is disposed between the heat-insulating barrel 28 and outer flame barrel 22 in the vicinity of the ignition ports 35, in the manner that it is directed toward the middle of the two ignition ports 35 and also that the flame of the pilot burner 36 passes through the ports 35 into the space between the inner and outer flame barrles 21 and 22 while forming flame separately at the lower part of combusting-air ports 41 in a red-heated section 40 of the outer flame barrel 22 at the same time.
