Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise a charging efficiency in utilizing a columnar vibration effectively, by providing an air vessel in an air intake system of an internal combustion engine in such a way that the vessel is effected as a pressure vibration conduit in low speed rotating of engine, and as an open end of the pressure vibtation conduit in high speed rotation of engine.
CONSTITUTION: Each air intake port 9W14 opened correspondingly to six cylinder engines is communicated to a large capacity vessel 7 in way of each air intake conduit 15W20. A partition 22 is arranged in the central portion of the vessel 7, so as to effect the vessel 7 as two vessels 7a, 7b corresponding to two cylinder groups A, B. Since the shorter the length of a vibration conduit, the higher the resonance frequency of the intake conduit, intake ports and conduits positioned at the understream of each vessel 7 effect as resonance conduits when the engine runs at high speed, and also act as a long conduit including the vessel at low speed running, therefore, a predetermined inertia supercharging is performed in the whole operation area of vehicle.
