Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the water contained in an ore very simply by gauging the electric resistance between a pair of electrode plates facing each other placing the ore between the electrode plates provided on a vessel. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2A and 2B are arranged along a pair of side walls facing each other provided on an upper opne box-shaped vessel 1 and connected to an electric resistance measuring device 3. The ore to be measured is sampled to fill the vessel 1. Here, it is preferable to vibrate the entire vessel 1 with a vibrator because of requiring almost constant density of the ore in the vessel 1 for higher measuring accuracy. Smaller dimensions of each ore to be measured can produce a better result. When the ore is the same, the electric resistance value has a constant correlationship between the water contents. Thus, this electric resistance value can give a water content from a correlationship graph prepared on a variety of ores beforehand.
