Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the specific gravity of the electrolytic solution or the capacity of the accumulator found from the specific gravity by substracting from the reference voltage the voltage of the accumulator or the charged voltage thereof while it is charged with a very small current and by magnifying in display a change thus found. CONSTITUTION:When electrodes 1 and 2 are inserted into the electrolytic solution 9 of a prescribed single cell 8 and are charged by a DC power source 3, an inter-electrode voltage rises and becomes stable. Assuming that the inter-electrode voltage at the time when the value of the specific gravity of the electrolytic solution 9 is a normal value of the specific gravity be the voltage of a reference voltage device 5, the both-end voltage of a resistor 6 turns to be OV at the time of the normal value of the specific gravity. When the specific gravity of the electrolytic solution of the accumulator to be measured lowers through discharge, the voltage between the electrodes 1 and 2 changes and a voltage proportional to the amount of lowering of the value of the specific gravity appears at both ends of the resistor 6. By detecting said voltage by a milli voltmeter 7 and by graduating the scale of the milli voltmeter 7 with the specific value based on a conversion of 1mV=0.001, the lowered value of the specific gravity can be read out directly therefrom. In addition, it is also possible the relation between the specific gravity and the capacity known by actual measurement is indicated by the capacity.
