Abstract

PURPOSE:To supply water collectively, automatically, and complately to a storage battery group, by providing on a cover an outer cylinder which extends down to almost the upper ends of elements, and providing in its inside an inner cylinder provided with a water supply part on its upper end and a float valve on its bottom. CONSTITUTION:An outer cylinder 5 which extends down to almost the upper ends of elements 3 and is continuously soaked in an electrolyte 4 is provided on a cover 2 of a container 1, in the inside of which an inner cylinder 6 which is combined with a water supply part 7 having an outlet 9 and water sump 8 connected to water supply pipes 10, 11 is provided, and on the bottom of which a float valve mechanism comprising a float 18 and valve 20 is provided. Thus an orifice 21 on the bottom of the inner cylinder 6 is plugged with the valve 20 through elevation of the float 18 due to elevation of the electrolyte level when water is supplied, therefore the water supply from the outlet 9 will stop automatically to enable the collective water supply, while the explosion preventing structure is formed on the water supply side, and the chain explosion initiated from explosion of one battery can be prevented.
