Abstract

PURPOSE: To perform pass changing safely and quickly by separating the front and rear of a strip (plate) conducted to a rear stage plating cell at plural parts, and reconnecting the leading end of the succeeding plate to the tail end of the preceding plate in performing pass changing.
CONSTITUTION: In the case of changing a pass from both side plating to one side plating, a plate 1 is fixed by clamps and is cut at the points AWD of (x) marks in the figure. The cut ends of the plates A-1 and C-1 and B-2 and D-2 are connected by welding or the like. Then, the plates C-1WB-2 of a rear stage plating cell 4b are reconnected as threading materials to the tail end D-2 of the preceding plate. The plates are passed along the one side pass line in which it is conducted in a forward direction through the cells 4a, 4b. In the case of changing the pass again to both side plating, the plate is cut at points E, F, and the cut ends E-1, E-2, F-1, F-2 of the plate 1 are connected to A-2, C-2, B-1, D-1, respectively.
