Abstract

PURPOSE: To always detect the peak value of a voltage, which fluctuates between two different periods, without comparing the periods with each other, by detecting the peak valves of the voltage at both the periods and determining the greater of the values.
CONSTITUTION: The outputs of peak value detection and holding circuits 1, 2; 4, 5 are applied to priority circuits 3, 6. Timing periods TM', TS' twice longer than periods TM, TS are generated by FF's 7, 8. Clearing signals TM1', TM2' for the circuits 1, 2 are produced by pulse generation circuits 9, 10 on the basis of the rising and falling signals of th period TM'. Clearing signals TS1', TS2' for the circuits 4, 5 are produced by pulse generation circuits 11, 12 in the same manner. The circuits 1, 4 detect a preceding period and perform detection or holding during a succeeding period. The other circuits 2, 5 perform detection or holding during the detection by the circuits 1, 4 and perform detection during the detection or holding by the circuits 1, 4. The peak values VP3, VP6 at the periods TM, TS are detected by the priority circuits 3, 6. The maximum peak value VP7 is determined by another priority circuit 13.
