Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the ligh emission brightness and to make clear the display, by providing a tapered projection having a ultra-violet reflection layer on the surface at the circumference of the phosphor material layer for every unit discharge point. CONSTITUTION:A pair of glass substrates 11, 12 are arranged while facing each other through a discharge gas space 13. X-electrode group 14, dielectric material 15, Y-electrode group 16, dielectric material 17 and a surface insulator layer 18 are sequentially formed on the surface of the glass substrate 11. Phosphor material layer 19 in correspondence with the discharge points P1, P2 constituted of electrode conductors 14, 16 and a tapered insulating projection 20 surrounding each phosphor material layer are provided on the inner wall of the upper side glass substrate 12 at the viewing side, while an ultra-violet reflecrion layer 21 composed of a chrome 21a and an aluminum 21b layers is formed on the surface of said projection 20.
