Abstract
PURPOSE:To achieve a number of same copies with excellent quality, by one exposure, by sequentially laminating optical conductive layer and optical mask forming layer with reversible thermal coloring, on a conductive support. CONSTITUTION:A photoreceptor on which an optical mask forming layer 4 including reversible thermal coloring material such as alpha-naphtholphthalein and an optical conductive layer 3 are sequentially formed is made on a conductive support 2. An original 14 is overlapped on the layer 4 and they are heated with an infrared ray lamp 5 to color the layer 4 from noncolor to a color or from a color to noncolor for the exposed part. After the orignal 14 is removed and the entire surface is positively charged with a corotron 6, positive charge is given at the boundary between the layers 3 and 4 through negative charge with a corotron 7. The entire surface is exposed to develop the colored part of the layer with a negative polarity toner 8 and this toner image 8 is copied on a copy paper 9. After discharge (f) with a discharge corotron, the discharge (f) and a charge (b) are repeated for required number of copies. After the end of copying and discharge/cleaning, the layer 4 is restored to the original state through cooling (can be left cooled).
