Abstract

PURPOSE:To continuously obtain a film for piezoelectricity or pyroelectricity, having a large piezoelectric constant or pyroelectric coefficient, by a method wherein a contiuous film for piezoelectricity or pyroelectricity is passed through a heating part and a cooling part, being oriented and, at the same time, polarized by means of corona discharge in said heating part, while being cooled and, at the same time, polarized similarly by means of corona discharge in said cooling part. CONSTITUTION:A heating part 1 and a cooling part 2 are disposed, in the mentioned order, on the passage of a film 3 for piezoelectricity or pyroelectricity made of polyvinylidene fluoride or the like, and continuously passing between carrying rollers 4 and 5. In such a constitution, means to jet out a hot air 1a of 50-90 deg.C are provided above the film 3 in the heating part 1, and corona discharging electrodes 6 and 7 are disposed therebelow. Moreover, in the cooling part 2, a cooling means to jet out a cold air 2a is provided above the film 3, and a corona discharging electrode 8 is similarly disposed therebelow. The film 3 is thus polarized while being oriented in the heating part 1, and cooled while being polarized in the cooling part. Thereby, productivity can be raised 100 times higher than the batch process.
