PURPOSE:To improve the yield of products by comparing the measured values of the tensions between respective two adjacent sets of rolls of rolling rolls with reference values thereby successively correcting the revolutions of the downstream rolls in such a manner that the deviation values of these tensions become zero. CONSTITUTION:Respective sets of rolling rolls 14A, 14'A-14H, 14'H are driven by driving control circuits 18A-18H to pass a material 1. Then, setters 24AB-24GH electrically set the tension of the material between respective two adjacent sets of the rolling rolls. When a switch 28AB is closed after this, the set tension of the setter 24AB and the actually measured value of an arithmetic circuit 22AB are compared. And a deviation signal thereof is generated and the driving control unit circuit 18B corrects the number of revolutions of a motor 16B until the deviation value becomes zero, based on this signal. Next, a switch 28BC closes and the revolutions of the rolls 14C, 14'C are so corrected that the tensions of the material between the rolling rolls 14B, 14'B and 14C, 14'C become predetermined values; thereafter, the revolutions of the rolling rolls 14D, 14'D-14H, 14'H are corrected in a similar manner.
