Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a nozzle to be immediately used again by preventing the nozzle from drying, by covering the nozzle with a cap slide, which is provided with an ink- impregnated absorber inside, when it is not used for a long period of time. CONSTITUTION:A lever 5 is manually turned counter clockwise, the lever 5 is locked by a locking member 17, an elastic cap 9 on the tip of a cap slide 4 is pressed and attached to a recording head 1, and a nozzle 3 is tightly closed. At the same time, the nozzle 3 is made to pass through a hole 9A and face an ink absorber 6 behind the cap 9. As said ink absorber 6 is impregnated with ink, the inside of the hole 9A and surrounding of the nozzle 3 are filled with vapor of ink, and therefore, the tip of the nozzle 3 is prevented from drying.
