Abstract
PURPOSE: To construct a spherical foundation integrally and strongly bound with the tip of a pile by a method in which a freely opening or closing expansible bit is inserted into a hollow pile to prelimarily excavate the ground area for internal excavation and spherical foot protection, and then a grout is injected and mixed with soil by the bit.
CONSTITUTION: A screw auger 7 for internal excavation, having a freely opening or closing expansible bit on the tip of its rod 2, is inserted into the hollow part of a pile 1, and internal excavation is performed. Then, while a preliminary excavating liquid 3 is injected under medium pressure, the expansible bit 6 is expanded to excavate the soil of the ground area 8 at and around the tip of the pile 1, where a spherical foot protection is to be constructed. After the completion of the expanding excavation and preliminary excavating treatment of the spherical foot protection 8, a grout 4, e.g., while cement milk, etc., is soon injected under medium pressure, the rod 2 is vertically moved and the expansible bit 6 is turned for stirring so as to construct the foot protection at the tip part of the pile 1. When the construction is complete, the rod 2 is drawn out to finish the foot protection work.
