Abstract
PURPOSE:To increase active material strength by adding 10-30% of the lead powder obtained from a ball mill type lead powder manufacturing machine to the lead powder obtained from a Barton pot type lead powder manufacturing machine. CONSTITUTION:10-30% of the lead powder obtained from a Shimazu type ball mill lead powder manufacturing machine is added to the lead powder obtained from a Barton pot type lead powder manufacturing machine to form past. The lead powder obtained from the Barton pot type machine has a large particle size, nearly a plate-like shape, and a uniform particle size, and can increase the battery performance, but because the active material strength is weak, the battery life is decreased. The lead powder obtained from the ball mill type machine has a small particle size, nearly a needle-like shape, and a non-uniform particle size, and can not increase the battery performance but can strengthen the active material strength. By mixing both powder in a specified ratio, the active material strength is increased about 4 times, and the battery life can be increased about 1.2 times, and moreover low rate discharge performance, and high rate discharge performance at a low temperature are improved.
