PURPOSE:To obtain noise-free, stable still-picture reproduction by providing a motor driving circuit with an electric motor braking circuit, and then controlling it in reproduction mode. CONSTITUTION:In normal reproduction, the rotation of a capstan motor 1 is controlled by an input signal from a control signal input 5, but once a still- picture reproduction command is applied to a terminal, a braking transistor (TR) 11 conducts to form a short circuit between both terminals of the motor 1 through a resistance, reducing its speed rapidly. When a frame-by-frame feed pulse signal is applied from a terminal 6, the output of a frame-by-frame feed control circuit 10 is inverted and applied to the braking TR11, which is turned off. Thus, the TR11 turns on unless the pulse is applied to perform braking operation, stabilizing the motor rotation during frame-by-frame feeding.
