CONSTITUTION:In case that a command to instruct the reproduction speed of a tape to 1/30 times speed is applied to an ST terminal when the tape is fed at five times speed in an ordinary state, a speed comparator 3 generates an error signal, and a reverse voltage is applied as a brake voltage to a motor 1 from a drive circuit 6. When the rotating speed of the motor 1 is lowered so that the tape feeding speed becomes less than 1/10 times speed, a coincidence signal of H level is outputted from a coincidence detector 7. In this manner, a condition detector 8 eliminates the supply of the brake voltage from a unidirectional switch circuit 9 to the motor 1. Thereafter, the motor 1 is decelerated to a 1/30 times speed due to the rotating inertia of the motor 1 and the delay of the response characteristic.
