Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve binding conditions between powder ore to each other and to obtain sintered products of improved quality and yield in the stage of agglomerating powdery iron ore by adding stages for compressing the raw material layers after charging and boring many fine holes therein and sintering the raw materials.
CONSTITUTION: The raw materials 13 consisting of powdery iron ore charged 9 onto a pallet 1 of a DL sintering machine are compressed by a pressing plate 14 or a roll 15 or the like to increase the density of the materials 13. When the compressed raw material layers 13 move together with the pallet 1 in an arrow direction, jigs 16 for boring which move at the same speed in the same direction are moved vertically to bore many fine holes 7 in the layers 13. If the degree of the compression and the sizes, quantities, depths, positions, directions, etc. of the fine holes are changed, the effect thereof changes as well. Here, 2 in the figure denotes sintered ore, 3 a combustion melting zone, 4 raw materials to be sintered and 5 a grate.
