Abstract

PURPOSE: To control discontinuous segregation at the interfacial part between upper and lower layers by setting a segregation regulating plate under a sloping plate to prevent segregation in starting material grain size and component resulting from two-stage charge.
CONSTITUTION: Segragation regulating plate 6 is set at a position under the lower end of lower-stage or upper- and lower-stage sloping plate 3 of a two-stage charge sintering machine. At the position starting materials drop naturally or drop and accumulate on pallet 4. Thus, while making good use of the characteristics of a two-stage charging method, the starting material dropping angle is converted into a supplementary angle to control spontaneous discontinuity (dislocation) in the starting material grain size and component at the interfacial part between the upper and lower layers. Plate 6 shows the incidental effect of relaxing compaction as a cushion plate. Accordingly, uniform heating is attained in the vertical direction in sintering operation to give sintered ore of high quality.
