Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve a color development property and a preservation stability of a heatsensitive recording paper, by a method wherein, in a heat-sensitive recording paper which comprises mainly a leuco cmpound and an organic acid, benzyl mandelate is incorporated as a color development promotor in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:Liquid A consisting of a leuco dyestuff of triphenylmethane or fluoran series, an additive such as benzyl mandelate of the formula or the like, and a binder such as polyvinyl alcohol, and liquid B consisting of a material, which is fused by heating and develops color in contact with a leuco compound, such as phenol, a pigment, and a binder, are mixed together with a binder and water to prepare a coating liquid. The liquid is applied on wood-free paper and dried to obtain a heat-sensitive recording paper. The content of benzyl mandelate is 1-30wt% by a total solid content of the heat-sensitive recoring layer.
