Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent a plasticizer from exercising the influence and to improve a head matching, by a method wherein a water-soluble high-molecular protective layer containing a thermosetting organic filler and an organic antifriction agent is formed on a surface of a heat-sensitive color development layer of a heat- sensitive recording label. CONSTITUTION:A protective layer consisting of a water-soluble polymer such as polyvinyl alcohol or hydroxyethylcellulose, a thermosetting organic filler such as urea-formalin resin or phenol resin, and an organic antifriction agent such as animal, vegitable or synthetic wax is formed with a thickness of 2-5mu on the surface of a heat-sensitive color development layer containing a leuco dye and an acid material, formed on a support surface. The amount of each component used is preferably 40-60pts.wt. for a water-soluble polymer, 20-30pts.wt. for a thermosetting organic filler, 30-50pts.wt. for an organic antifriction agent. Additionally, an adhesive layer and a release backing paper are laminated on the back, of a support and a second protective layer of a water-soluble polymer can be provided between the back of the support and the adhesive layer.
