Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the isolation between a developer and a leuco substance and to restrain the blushing of liquid and/or texture by a method wherein etherified starch is used as a high polymeric compound for dispersing the colorless or light- colored leuco substance, in the coloring layer of the heat-sensitive recording material. CONSTITUTION:The colorless or light-colored leuco substance is dispersed in etherified starch to obtain a color former liquid. A developer which consists of an organic acid or a phenolic substance and reacts with the leuco substance to develop the color when being heated is dispersed in the high polymeric compound or etherified starch to obtain a developer liquid. The mixture of the color former liquid and the developer liquid is admixed with resin binder, surfactant, defoamer, wax, inorganic pigment, etc. to prepare a heat-sensitive coloring layer liquid, which is coated on a base such as wood free paper and dried.
