Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a thin, long metallic tube of excellent cylinder accuracy by changing a mandrel to make the clearance between the material tube and the mandrel small when making spinning work of a metallic tube while rotating the tube fitted to the mandrel. CONSTITUTION:A thick metallic material tube 3 is fitted to a mandrel 1 one end of which is fixed to a rotation shaft 2. While rotating the mandrel 1 by the rotation shaft 2, a forming roller 4 is rotated and moved in axial direction of the mandrel 1, and the material tube 3 is extended to form a thin material tube 3'. When inner diameter of the formed material tube 3' becomes larger than the mandrel 1, the mandrel 1 is changed to that of larger diameter, and spinning is performed by the roller 4. Since clearance between the two is small, there is no generation of complicated stress such as bending moment as in the case when there is a clearance. Thus, a thin metallic tube excellent in cylinder accuracy can be formed easily.
