Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a suitable control circuit using a variable attenuator of differential amplifier form as a sound adjusting volume, by applying an external control signal to an input of a circuit in which an input and output transfer characteristic is nonlinear by regarding the output as controlled voltage. CONSTITUTION:Bipolar transistors (TRs)Q4 and Q5 being nonlinear elements are constituted as a differential pair, and a current source of current mirror type consisting of TRs Q6 and Q7 and resistors R3-R5 is constituted as a constant current source to obtain a differential type. An external control signal VA with linear level change is applied to a differential input of the differential amplifier and a current I1 flowing to a collector resistor R6 of the TRQ5 is transferred to an output load resistor RL for voltage conversion with a current mirror circuit consisting of TRs Q8 and Q9 and resistors R6 and R7. A voltage across the load resistor RL is used as a control voltage Vc of the voltage controlled variable attenuator of differential amplifier constitution.
