Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the perceptibility and to change the reflectance continuously, by connecting a controlling circuit consisting of an optical sensor detecting an incident amount of light, an output signal amplifier and a switch for an input change to a reflecting mirror in which a specfied electrolyte is sealed. CONSTITUTION:Electrolytic solution 14 in which an oxidizable and reducible org. substance expressed in the formula (R is chain alkyl of X<-> is a negative ion of Br<->, Cl<-> and I<-> etc.) is dissolved in an inert solvent (e.g. acetonitrile), is sealed between two pieces of transparent glass substrates 11, in the inside surface of which transparent electrodes 12, 12' are formed, and a reflecting mirror 1 provided with a reflecting film on the outside surface of the electrode 12' is connected with a clip circuit 23 of a controlling circuit 2. When a switch mechanism 24 of the circuit 2 is turned on and a light is made hincident into the mirror 1 and an optical sensor 21, a signal in accordance with an incident amount of light is generated from the sensor 21, and this is inputted into an amplifier 22, in the case that an output signal Vin from the amplifier 22 does not exceed a normal level value Vm, the electric amount according to the output signal is applied to the electrodes 12, 12' and the electrolytic solution 14 is colored and the optical transmittance is decreased.
