A marking device 7 puts a visible mark to the electric wire 13 by means of jetting a coating material, etc., and is provided in the vicinity of the electric wire running path. A storage device 8 stores a calibration value and a calibration pulse number, and a comparator 9 compares a dimension measuring pulse number from the rotary encoder 6 with the calibration pulse number stored in the storage device 8. A controller 10 is additionally provided with the marking device 7 when the dimension measuring pulse number and the calibration pulse have been incoincidence, and an operation device 11 calculates measured strip length from the dimension measuring pulse number and the calibration value. Subsequently, an indicator 12 displays the measured strip length.
