Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable accurate measurement while realizing high accurate gauging even in the case of including fractions by an arrangement wherein the esult gauged by a rotary wheel is calibrated by detection output from a separate reference mark detector.
CONSTITUTION: A distance between the first marking device 1 and the sencond marking device 2 is precisely set to L, and these devices 1, 2 put marks on a gauged line W at the same time when a mark control 4 is operated. Upon movement of the line W, a mark detector 3 detects the marks. On the other hand, a gauge 5 consisting of a rotary hweel measures a moved length of the line w continuously and a pulse generator transmits pulses. This pulse signal is applied to a gate circuit and the gate is opened or closed by an output signal from the mark detector 3. An output signal of the gate is supplied to a line length calibration circuit 8 to compensate an error by the gauge 5 and thus calibrated result is displayed on an indicator 9.
