Abstract
PURPOSE:To vary the amplitude characteristics only without changing the delay characteristics, by selecting the characteristics of each component and the location so that the delay characteristics can be of inverse characteristics, in two cascade-connected circuits. CONSTITUTION:BlocksIand II constitute an amplitude equalizer. Each block is provided with the 1st path L1 and the 2nd path L2 of parallel connection, and no component is inserted to the path L1 of the blockIand a variable attenuator AT1, a delay line DL1 and a variable phase device PH1 are inserted to the path L2 in series connection. A variable attenuator AT2 is inserted to the path L1 of the block II and a delay line DL2 and a variable phase shifter PH2 are inserted to the path L2. A common control signal is given to the attenuators AT1 and AT2 from a terminal C-AT and to the phase shifters PH1 and PH2 from a terminal C-PH. Since the inserted path of the attenuators AT is different for the blocksIand II, the positive and negative polarities of the delay characteristics are reversed. Thus, the delay characteristics are cancelled and the slope of the amplitude is steep.
