Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a waterless lithographic original plate for direct printing undergoing no change in the photosensitive, plate making and printing characteristics even after long-term storage by forming a specified intermediate layer on a support having an elastic rubber layer and laying a photosensitive resin layer on the intermediate layer. CONSTITUTION:An elastic rubber layer of chloroprene or the like is formed on an Al plate or the like, and a synthetic resin film of polyethylene terephthalate, polypropylene or the like having 0.3-30mum thickness is stuck to the rubber layer to form an intermediate layer. On the intermediate layer a photosensitive resin layer is formed by applying a photosensitive composition contg. a monofunctional monomer such as acrylic acid, a multifunctional monomer and an oligomer or a photosensitive compound such as an aromatic diazo compound. A silicone rubber layer is then formed, and a polyester film cover layer is laid on the layer to obtain a printing original plate. A positive film is brought into contact with the original plate, and the plate is exposed and developed after removing the cover layer to obtain a printing plate. The original plate maintains the performance even after long-term storage and gives a superior printing plate.
