Abstract

PURPOSE:To control sheet evenness and to produce high quality products, by providing a crown arithmatic controlling device and automatically controlling roll intersecting angle and roll bending force at each stand. CONSTITUTION:The desired values of sheet crowns and sheet evennesses both at the exit sides of the 4th and 5th stands are computed by a crown arithmatic controlling device 9 to set roll intersecting angles and roll bending forces. Next, during rolling, the roll bending force is corrected by the difference the target sheet crown value at the exit of the 5th stand and its detected value to control the detected value to be equal to the target value. Fruther the roll bending force is corrected by the difference between the target sheet evenness value at the exit of the 5th stand and its detected value to control the detected value to be equal to the target value. When the control by correcting the bending force only is impossible, the roll intersecting angle is also corrected.
