Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a well-shaped rolled product, by combining plural horizontal rolling mills having work roll bending devices respectively and a broadside rolling mill to control the crown, shape, and breadth of product. CONSTITUTION:A setting signal 9 of work-roll bending pressure, a crown controlling signal 10, and a shape command 12, required to correspond with the shape of a rolling material S, are inputted to a controlling device 8 to be computed, and the results are transmitted to pressure-setting valves 7 as the pressure-setting signals to each stand, in a rolling equipment consisting of horizontal mills 1a, 1b, 1c, and 1d having roll bending devices respectively and a broadside mill 4. A pressure setting quantity is transmitted to an arithmetic device 13 instantaneously to roughly predict the breadth fluctuation, and a setting quantity of vertical roll 5 is determined corresponding to the prediction, and then a breadth rolling-reduction correcting command 11 to the set quantity is outputted. Further, the correction is given by a signal of breadth gauge 14 to obtain a well- shaped product without causing the middle and/or side edge wavinesses.
