PURPOSE:To contrive the simplicity of maintenance and the improvement of reliability as well by a method wherein the rotating field substances of main and auxiliary AC generators,the rotating armature of an exciting generator, and an exciting rectifier are arranged on the same shaft rotationally driven by internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:The field coil AF of an auxiliary AC generator is fixed on the shaft directly connected to an internal combustion engine together with the field coil MF of a main AC generator, the armature EA of an exciting AC generator, and an exciting rectifier ED. Furthermore, the field coil AF is connected to the field coil MF of the main AC generator in series to compose to receive power supply from the armature EA of the exciting generator through the exciting rectifier ED. The magnetic circuits in the main and auxiliary AC generators are separated and of self-reliance to avoid a bad influence from the other magnetic circuit. In this way, belts or the like required for driving field coils can be omitted for easy maintenance and reliability can be increased.
