Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent scale formation to machinery and tools by a method wherein the calcium ion concn. of an aqueous recirculatory cooling system is monitored by a calcium ion meter and adjusted to a limit concn. or less by carrying out forced blow.
CONSTITUTION: Cooling water cooled by a cooling tower 2 is supplied to a condenser 4 of a heat exchanger 3 by a pump 1 to be heat exchanged with a cooling medium and the temp. of cooling water is raised by this heat exchange and sent to the cooling tower 2 to be again cooled therein. In the tank provided to the lower part of the cooling tower 2 in this aqueous this aqueous recirculatory cooling system, a sensor 6 of a calcium ion electrode is provided. The signal from the sensor 6 is taken in an ion meter 7 and a signal is issued to a blow valve 8 by a set value to open and close the blow valve 8. By carrying out the control of water quality of thus recirculated cooling water, scale is not almost formed to the condenser 4 of the heat exchanger 3.
