Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a composition for coating an optical glass fiber for optical transmission to form an uniform and flexible coating film, which is obtained by mixing an acrylic crosslinking agent consisting essentially by mixing an acrylic crosslinking agent consisting essentially acrylic acid monoester of polyalkyleneglycol to unsaturated polyester. CONSTITUTION:(B) an acrylic crosslinking agent consisting essentially of acrylic acid monoester (e.g. polyethyleneglycol monoacrylate) of polyalkyleneglycol and (C) a radical polymerization initiator (e.g. benzoylperoxide) or a photopolymerization initiator (e.g. acetophenone) are mixed with (A) unsaturated polyester obtained by reacting an unsaturated polybasic acid (e.g. maleic acid) and polyhydric alcohol (e.g. propyleneglycol) to obtain a desired composition for coating an optical glass fiber. The proper content of (A) component is about 50-90wt% to a total amount of A component and B component.
