Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a resin composition useful as a coating, a putty, a binder for inks or a casting material, and giving the cured product having excellent flexibility, water resistance, chemical resistance, mechanical strength and surface drying characteristics in air, by compounding a specific vinyl monomer with a polymerization initiator.
CONSTITUTION: A vinyl monomer composition comprising (A) 100W0.5pts.wt. of the (meth)acrylate of a polyester having terminal hydroxyl groups and prepared by reacting (a) a polyhydric alcohol I (R1 is H or CH3; R' and R" are 2W4C alkylene; Xn is 1W4H, Cl or Br; l and m are integers of ≥1, l+m=2W40) with (b) a carboxylic acid having an air-drying unsaturated group in the molecule (e.g. tetrahydrophthalic acid, etc.), and (B) 0W99.5pts.wt. of a monomer II (R2 is H or CH3), is compounded with (C) a polymerization initiator or a photosensitizer.
