Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable to rotate a flywheel without utilizing an exteranl electric source by a method wherein a hydraulic motor for starting is driven by a hydraulic pump driven by the engine and the flywheel is rotated upon starting the engine to which a large flywheel is provided. CONSTITUTION:Upon starting the engine, the speed regulating lever of the engine 1 is operated to rotate the engine in an idling condition, a switch 17 is put ON to put ON relays 14, 15, an electromagnetic clutch 8 is put ON and an electromagnetic direction changeover valve 9 is switched to position B. According to these operations, oil discharged from the hydraulic pressure pump 5 is supplied to the hydraulic motor 7 for starting through a valve 9 and the flywheel 2 is rotated by driving of the same motor 7. When the retating speed of the flywheel 2 has become higher than the same of the engine 1, a relay 13 is put ON by the output of a comparator 12 and the electromagnetic clutch 4 is put ON. Thereby, the engine 1 is connected to the flywheel 2 through a gear device 3 and the retating speed thereof may be increased.
