Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the unstable operation of an automatic power factor regulator at the time of lowering of a system voltage by detecting the delay reactive power to be supplied to a defective point and locking the output of the regulator. CONSTITUTION:When a shortcircuit occurs at the upstream side system of an AC system 1 or at other feeder of the system 1, a system voltage decreases, and a synchronous motor 5 supplies a delay reactive power to a defective point. Since the delay reactive power is leading reactive power as a regard from an automatic power factor regulator 6, the regulator 6 produces a control signal which weakens the excitation. Since a reactive power relay 12, however, operates with the reactive power flowing to the defective point, thereby opening the contact 12b. Accordingly, the control signal form the regulator 6 is not applied to a phase controller 18. In this manner, the unstable operation of the regulator at the time of lowering of the system voltage can be prevented, thereby stably continuting the operation of the synchronous motor.
