Abstract

PURPOSE:To contrive to lower the heat loss and to improve the thermal efficiency of the water heater by a method wherein means for measuring the temperature and quantity of hot water, means for setting the reference quantity of hot water to be left in a hot water tank at all times, means for memorizing set heating temperature and means for calculating remaining heat quantity in the hot water tank based upon the measured values of the temperature and quantity and upon the set heating temperature are provided. CONSTITUTION:The temperature and quantity of hot water in the hot water tank 1 are measured with a hot water temperature sensor 5 and a hot water quantity sensor 6. The set heating temperature is calculated based upon the data of the sensors 5 and 6 and upon the contents set on a mode setter 8 and reference hot water temperature setters 9 and 10 are corrected every day and renewedly memorized in order to control the heating so as to make coincide the hot water temperature with the renewed set heating temperature. As a result, the optimum heating control is performed in proportion to the quantity of hot water used, resulting in lowering the heat loss and improving the thermal efficiency of the water heater.
