Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a positive electrode improving the charge/discharge cycle life without reinforcing or over-pasting an expansion processed lattice by constituting an expansion processed positive electrode lattice with an alloy made of a Pb-Ca-Sn series alloy mainly composed of lead containing 0.01-0.05%, by weight, of at least one kind selected from a group of Zn and Ce. CONSTITUTION:A lattice expansion processed on a various composition lead alloy sheet is filled with normal paste to an extent not to be over-pasted is used as a positive electrode to produce a battery with a nominal capacity of 35AH, 12V set. The figure shows the discharge capacity preservation rate based on a repetition cycle of slow discharging and charging at a 10hr rate. Implemented examples are shown for cases of Zn 0.02% by b, Ce 0.05% by c, Zn 0.01% by d, and Ce 0.01% by e. As made clear in the figure, the slow discharge cycle characteristics can be improved by using a lattice of an alloy made of a Pb-Ca-Sn alloy added with 0.01-0.05%, by weight, of Zn or Ce as a positive electrode.
