Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure continuously the discharge quantity of molten slag, by providing a molten slag flow velocity measuring device in the passage of a discharge conduit and providing a molten slag weight measuring device, which measures the weight of molten slag on a measuring discharge conduit, in the halfway position of the discharge conduit. CONSTITUTION:A measuring discharge conduit 8 to which a load cell 9 is attached is provided between discharge conduits 7a and 7b of a blast furnace 1, and molten slag from the blast furnace 1 is cooled quickly into fine particles by high-pressure water from blowing box 5, and these fine particles are gathered in a distributing tank 3 through a granulating conduit 4. A slag flow velocity measuring device 10 having an impeller whose blade plate is sunk partially in molten slag is provided in the discharge conduit 7a. By this constitution, when molten slag is flowed out from the blast furnace 1, the blade of the impeller is rotated, and the flow velocity of molten slag is measured by the flow velocity measurig device 10; and when molten slag is flowed on the measuring discharge conduit 8, the weight of molten slag is measured by the weight applied to the load cell 9, thus obtining the discharge quantity of molten slag on the basis of these measured values.
