Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the efficiency in conveying a particulate material by a method wherein the material is fed into distrbuting pipes by jetting air after weakening the moving inertia of particles. CONSTITUTION:A mixed flow A of air and the particulate material is conveyed through an inflow pipe 16 and collides against a conical collision body 18 at the outlet of the pipe 16. Then, the air flows upwardly, while the particulate material rebounds and again collides with the throttle part of a casing 12 to reduce the inertia thereof. Then, an air flow B is introduced via an air-injecting port 14 provided at the lowermost part of the throttle part of the casing 12, whereby the particulate material is brought up to the height of the distributing pipes 20, 22 while maintaining the airflow velocity in the cross section of the casing 12 to be higher than the end velocity of the particles of the material. In this case, since the particles flows upwards at a relatively low velocity of about 1-5m/sec, they are in such a condition as to be mixed and distributed uniformly. Accordingly, a mixed-phase flow C containing the amount of the particles proportional to the flow rate of air through the distributing pipes 20, 22 flows into the pipes 20, 22 to accomplish accurate distribution of the particles.
