Abstract

PURPOSE: To make a titled device smaller in size and decrease the amount of air and required driving power by providing a cylindrical body which is connected with a nozzle for supplying molten slag and a gas feed pipe for supplying a gas in the upper part, and is mounted to a vessel in such a manner that a gap for flowing out of scattering molten slag and gas exists between the lower end and a granulating machine.
CONSTITUTION: The slag flow 5 falling from the nozzle 3 of a tundish 2 passes the inside of a cylindrical body 6, falls to a rotary target 4 and is scattered to the outside circumference to form slag liquid drops which scatter by passing a gap 16 and are charged into a fluidized layer 7. There, the slag liquid drops are coated of surfaces by the fluid medium; at the same time, they exchange in terms of heat with the gas flow ejecting from a gas diffusion pipe 9, whereby they are cooled and solidified. The cooled and solidified slag particles settle in the fluidized layer 7 and are discharged through a slag particle discharge port 11. The gas having been exchanged in terms of heat to high temp. in the fluidized layer 7 is exhausted through an exhaust port 12 and heat is recovered therefrom in a heat recovering device.
