Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a starting circuit and make a current type inverter device simpler, by providing a switching element having a self arc-extinguishing function between the DC terminals of the reverse converting part. CONSTITUTION:In starting, from gate circuits 7-9 driven by a logical circuit 10, firing signals are fed to thyristors 3a and 3b in a reverse converting part 3 and a gate turnoff type thyristor 6 respectively. By these firing signal, the thyristors 3a, 3b and 6 are made to conduct, so that a current flows from a forward converting part 1. Thereafter, when an arc-extinguishing signal is fed to the thyristor 6 from the logical circuit 10 through the gate circuit, the thyristor 6 turns off, so that the current flowing therethrough is commutated to a load 4. By thus employing a switching element having a self arc-extinguishing function as a starting circuit, the inverter device can be simplified.
