Abstract

PURPOSE:To check a recording state during recording by sampling and holding a recording input signal and a playback output signal at timing which corresponds to the interval between a recording and a reproducing head, and then performing level comparison. CONSTITUTION:During recording, an input signal is recorded on a tape 8 through a recording-reproduction changeover switch 2, a recording amplifier 3, an encoder 4, recording-reproduction changeover switch 5, and a recording amplifier 6. A reproducing head 9 is connected to a regenerative amplifier 10. The input signal to the recording amplifier 6 and the output signal from the regenerative amplifier 10 are supplied to a signal selector 21, whose output is supplied to a high-pass increasing filter 22 which corresponds to the saturation level of the tape, and its output is supplied to a capacitor 24 through a rectifying circuit 23. The output of the capacitor 24 is supplied to an AD converter 26. A CPU27 compares the level of an input side with that of a reproduction level at the timing between a recording and a reproducing head and when the level difference is large, it is displayed on an LED29.
