Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the distance between electrodes so as to decrease an electrolytic voltage, by cutting a bent end section of a metal electrode comprising a U-shaped electrode plate and an electric current feeder, and by spreading the distance between the opposed electrode plates with them secured by resilient members.
CONSTITUTION: The U-shaped bent end section of the metal electrode for electrolysis and comprising the electric current feeder 1 and the U-shaped anode electrode plate 2 is cut. The welding ends of the cut electrode plate 2 are bent outwardly, and the distance between the opposed electrode plates 2 is spread to a prescribed distance. A pair of angle members 5, 5' are positioned on the opposite sides of the electrode plates 2 so that they face to each other, and the resilient members 6 having a U-shape in cross section are secured. Then with spacers 7 positioned between the electrodes to preliminarily reduce the distance therebetween, they are inserted between cathode plates. Then the spacers 7 are dismounted to restore the distance between the electrode plates 2 to the original distance. Thus the distance between the anode and the cathode can be reduced.
