Abstract

PURPOSE: To easily modify the surface of existing electrode plates to electrode bodies having flat and stable construction by curving the welded end parts and curved end parts of U-shaped electrode plates respectively in outside directions and expanding the spacings between the opposite electrode plates.
CONSTITUTION: An existing metallic electrode for electrolysis consisting of feed bodies 1, and anode electrode plates 2 and cathode electrode plates 3 of which the end parts are connected to said bodies 1 and the sections are curved to a U-shape is modified as follows: First, the welded end parts and curved end parts of the plates 2 are curved respectively outward, so that the spacings between the opposite plates 2 are expanded by a prescribed spacing. If the plates 2 are particularly of a large size, spacing members 4, 4' are further installed and secured between said expanded plates 2 in order to maintain the flatness of the plates 2 and provide stable electrode construction. Here, 5 denotes the partition walls conductively connecting the plates 2 and the electrodes 3.
