Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the node of the reticular section of an expand grid element and that of the reticular section and a morexpanded section from being corroded due to stresses by making them flat without applying hard force. CONSTITUTION:A flatting roller 12 is arranged at the position nearest an expand processor 3 and one more flatting roller 12' is arranged backward. The flatting roller 12 consists of the upper roller 12a which holds only a nonexpanded high flat section 4 and a node 9 and the lower roller 12b which supports the whole width of a lead alloy plate 1'. By inserting the lead alloy plate 1' into the flatting roller 12, the nonexpanded section 4 which forms a lug and a reticular section 6 are arranged in the same level. The flatting roller 12' consists of two lower rollers 12'b which hold only a nonexpanded low flat section 5 and a node 10, the lower central roller 12'c which supports the already flattened sections 4 and 9, and the upper roller 12'a which covers the whole width of the lead alloy plate 1'. By inserting the lead alloy plate 1' into the flatting roller 12', the nonexpanded section 5 which forms a grid leg area and the expanded reticular section 6 are almost arranged in the same level.
