Abstract

PURPOSE:To extent the life of a filter and to reduce noises by interrupting the discharged gas by a gas releasing means from an ozone removing filter and lowering the driving speed of said means while not in image formation. CONSTITUTION:While not in copying, a solenoid 39 does not act, and the shutter vanes 35a in front of an ozone filter 34 are held closed by the force of a spring 38. On the other hand, the vanes 35b whih do face the filter 34 are held open, and the discharged gas is released to the outside of the machine by bypassing the filter 34. At this time, the input voltage of a fan 33 is made lower than that during copying operation to reduce noises. In the stage of copying operation, the solenoid 39 is driven to pull a wire 37, then the shutter vanes 35a open and 35b close, and the discharged gas passes only through the filter 34.
